Second sequel in the 'Winterne Series'. Since he arrived in the village of Winterne, things have been anything but quiet for Sam Johnson. Now, with his first set of exams at St Merriott’s over and the end of term looming, Sam is hoping for a peaceful summer holiday with time to find out more about the Mendip Hills and the surrounding area. But Sam should have known better. Jealousy and the secrecy that is part of his everyday life are difficult enough, especially when he begins losing friends because of his behaviour.
Sam finds he is spending much more time underground when he becomes involved in searching for an elf who has mysteriously disappeared, finds himself spying on a shadowy new acquaintance, and telling lies to close friends. Some summer holiday!
